Portsmouth to Santander Ferry Crossing

Brittany Ferries sailings run a twice weekly crossing from Portsmouth to Santander.

Destination: Santander

The most touristic part of Santander is El Sardinero. You can enjoy one of the most beautiful promenades in Spain here, two beaches and see the magnificent buildings including the Gran Casino, which summons the architecture of the Belle Epoque.

Santander has three beautiful beaches; Biquinis, la Magdalena and los Peligros, protected from the wind making for calm waters.

For the nature admirers, Santander has several National Parks, with Picos de Europa National Park being the largest. Other National Parks of interest to visitors are Oyambre, Pena Cabarga and Saja-Besaya.

Try out Santander's cuisine. From the sea comes the characteristic rabas (fried squid), bocartes rebozados (breaded white bait) and fresh shellfish. Santander is home to excellent beef and cocido montanes (stew made of meat, beans and cabbage). Popular desserts include Quesada (cheesecake) and sobaos pasiegos (sponge cake).

Portsmouth ferry terminal is located directly off the M27 and easily reached from London, the Midlands and the North. The return journey sets off at 10.30am and is much quicker than the trip there.
